soundless

when the big wheels touch down
don’t tell me when it’s safe
to take my belt off.

You should know that I’m waiting.
Waiting for the crashing sound
of a gasp
to tear me to pieces.

whispers in the form
of scratches
on my arms
please distract me
from all the
thoughts I shouldn’t have
and shouldn’t care about
anymore.

Don’t make me a clown
just
let
me

let
go

I can’t take the soundless
&

soundless

Afraid it’s all in my head
but I want it to be
just all in my head
