blind folded

in ten feet of smoke
he stands
waiting at a bus stop wondering
if love is careless

like wind in her hands
lights left on at night
bedroom door unlocked
he cares less

sometimes he is the ashes
and the feelings
escaping embers

so he crosses when no one crosses
wondering
if he too
can pretend to care less
